Using Mothers of Invention: The Feminist Roots of Contemporary Art (2025) as a primary text, this class will explore work being created by artists in Los Angeles today, taking into account historical precedents found in Feminist art of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and before.

Feminist Legacies/Feminist Futures, Part II

This class will focus on work being created by artists today, taking into account historical precedents found internationally in Feminist Art since the 1980s. Includes an introductory online session, followed by three visits to museums, galleries and artists studios.
